Stayin' Alive Long Beach  Supporters

Stayin' Alive Long Beach represents everyone who supports a lifesaving animal shelter in Long Beach that saves all adoptable and treatable animals in their care. The following people have given us permission to list them as members on our website.  We believe the City of Long Beach needs to know how many people support making the Long Beach Animal Care Services shelter a lifesaving shelter.  Together, we are their voice.

This is a critically needed modus operandi for the city of Long Beach to operate appropriately on behalf of all the sentient animal beings that are trusting you, that you are entrusted with, to be their shelter for safety.
Currently this not the M.O. being utilized at the Long Beach animal control facilities.  It's incumbent upon you to help, not harm your charges. And, it's morally correct to do.

If the mayor wants to keep his job, he will keep his promises.  The SpcaLA has taken  over all adoptions to make money, which would not be so bad, but SpcaLA  rejects most for LBACS to kill.  Long Beach is an affluent progressive city with elected leaders who are shockingly indifferent to the inhumane treatment  meted out to our homeless pets that will not be tolerated much longer by voters.

It's about time!  Long Beach is an important enough city and should be leading the way in spay/neuter and crack down on backyard breeding with fines and harsher penalties.  All of that in the long run will help offset the cost of a NO KILL shelter.

I am so glad I found your organization! I have been dealing with the heartbreak of feral cats and kittens in my neighborhood for years with no help from the city that purports to be "pet-friendly". Knowing that 100% of feral cats die upon entering LB Animal Control, I have never called upon them, other than to ask why they don't have a TNR program in place. They are unhelpful, unfriendly, and a good shake-up in their organization is long overdue!

Oh, and a day after I moved here, my dog got out and got picked up my animal control (actually, LBPD found him). Of course it was a weekend, and they had him for 2 1/2 days before they were open for me to pick him up. He was filthy, and had kennel cough, so that in addition to their fee, I had a vet bill to deal with, too.
