Long Beach City  Election 2016

Picture
Tell city council that you

want Long Beach to "Save 90"

The City of Long Beach municipal elections will take place on April 12, 2016. We are voting in new:

  •   Representatives for Council Districts 2, 6 and 8

Let your city council member know that you want change at the Long Beach Animal Care Services (ACS).  ACS has euthanized more than 5,000 animals since Mayor Garcia was elected in 2014.  If we don't take positive, proactive steps to change, more animals will die at the Long Beach shelter.

Tell City Council: Please mandate that ACS implement the lifesaving programs of the No Kill Equation.

1. Find your district on the map.

2. Locate your city council representative.

3.  Click here to find their contact information.

4. Call and write, respectfully explaining to him or her why you would like to see ACS implement the No Kill Equation: comprehensive adoptions, low-cost spay/neuter, foster programs, a neonatal kitten program, progressive pet redemption programs, and more.   A sample letter can be found here. Please feel  free to use this one or customize it as you wish.

5. Explain that Austin, Texas and cities all over the country are doing it, and Long Beach can do it, too!

The animals are counting on us. Let's make 2016 the year that Long Beach shelter animals get the 21st century programs they need to Stay Alive.
